Saturated Fat: Friend or Foe?!

Saturated fat has been demonised for quite a long time now, but is it really worthy of the bad press?

In my opinion, there is no real reason to avoid saturated fat like it is the plague, as long as you exercise regularly & enjoy a healthy balanced diet.

Looking at reducing saturated fat in your diet without look at the overall quality of your diet can be short sighted.

I would first look to increase your intake of: –

Omega 3 fatty acids (from fish like salmon & sardines or from walnuts & flax seeds)

Fruit & Vegetables (try & include as many variations as you can)

There are many beneficial foods that are high in saturated fat like: –

Butter, Coconut Oil, Dark Chocolate (yes really!!), Fish, Cheese, Nuts, Seeds & Whole Milk.

So, saturated fat…. definitely not the villain its made out to be!
